About Keris Kares

On November 22, 2013, four year old Keris Bembry was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Immediately after receiving the diagnosis, there was an outpouring of love, prayers and financial support from family, friends and total strangers. As a result, Keris Kares was founded to provide that same hope, love and support to families that find themselves in similar situations due to a childhood cancer diagnosis. WCPES and other schools are joining forces to help bring an end to childhood cancers. During the week of September 25-29, 2017, the school will be sponsoring several “Going Gold” events to raise funds. Listed below are daily events that have been planned for the week:

Go GOLD! (September 22) Keris Kares Kick-Off (everyone wear gold shirts)

(September 25-29)

Monday - Keris Kolors (boys wear purple, girls wear pink); Purple and pink are Keris Kares’ colors.

Tuesday - Wear sunglasses or hat

Wednesday - Wristband Wed (sell for $1)

Thursday - Thankful Thursday - Let the kids share 1 thing that they are thankful for (kids with cancer can’t always enjoy the same things that they do)

Friday - Keris Kares Kickback - sell popkorn & snowkones for Keris

-- During the week, we will have a “Koins for Keris” campaign. Participants are encouraged to bring in change/coins to donate. The class that raises the most money will win a free ice cream sundae party at the end of month.

On behalf of Keris Kares, we thank you and your students in advance for your support and efforts to give back to our own. For more information and other ways to get involved, please visit:
